Shin splints still playing up, but not to bad.
We stop briefly at Babe de las Calzados to fill our water bottles then continue in the sunshine.
Again the Camino has been busy, continually meeting new pilgrims and those that we have walked with for the past 13 days.
We descend down a steep track after stopping for a bit of R&R in the sun. What a pleasant change to be walking in shorts. Every one has a spring in their step and very friendly.
I knew that daft looking hat would come in handy!
It's a classic medieval town which has changed little in the last centuries. Only 1 small hostel an Albergue, a shop and a bar that serves pilgrims meals for €9. So not a lot to entertain the dozens of pilgrims that have arrived. They have opened the sports hall to sleep latecomers on the floor.
Some of the buildings are empty which seems a shame as they have been here for more than 600 years.
Our hostel for tonight is small but very nice with 7 rooms and a patio to sit out on. The guy who runs the hostel also runs the only shop in town directly opposite.
The small square and the only bar is the meeting place for everyone. It's glorious sitting on the steps of the church in the blazing sun doing this blog. Bon Camino to Mark & Deanna who we left behind for their rest day in Burgos.
Tomorrow we head for Castrojeriz, only 20km.
Amazing!
