Day 3 - Akerreta to Cizur Menor (via Pamplona)

We leave our quite little Hostel in bright sun shine (after a fresh locally grown vegetable soup and fish stew the night before), shorts on and sun cream, to head for Cizur Menor. The first part of this section is tranquil walk crossing the Rio Arga (river). The weather is perfect, warm, sunny with a light constant breeze. The legs and feet are great.

It's about 15 miles into Pamplona where we shall stop for lunch.

Pamplona is a beautiful city and the Camino runs right through the middle. This is a favourite Pilgrim stop over for the Cathedral and many museums.

Tony on guard duty at the entrance to the old city.

Paseo de Redín 2, Pamplona, Navarre, Spain
(69Km from the start)

We stopped for lunch before continuing on to our Hostel at Cizur Menor, Casa Ascona. It's now about 22 and not a cloud in the Sky.

Arrived in Cizur Menor, gona jump in a well earned shower and sit in the sun (nothing like rubbing your nose in it folks).

It would have been Roger's birthday today, so Salute Roger, wish you were here.

Our next destination is Puente La Reina about 12 miles but a climb of 1000ft over about 2½ km.

Well done Crystal Palace.

PS. Tired or what! When Tony saw this menu he thought that his luck was in "Oh look, they do English breakfast"

Umm, it's the infusion tea list…. Have some sympathy for me, only 30 days to go...
